Lingrui Gan has been awarded the prestigious Dissertation Completion Fellowship award from the Graduate College for 2018. Lingrui Gan is in his fourth year of study in the PhD program. There were a total of 78 nominations submitted from 48 departments from across campus, with 22 nominees selected for this award. The award comes with a one year fellowship designed to allow the recipients to finish their doctoral studies within the next year of study.

The competition included two two stages of review. Each nomination was first reviewed by one of the Fellowship Board’s four Area Committees, then finalists were reviewed by the Executive Committee. Each Area Committee is comprised exclusively of faculty members; the Executive Committee is comprised of faculty along with two graduate students.
