  • Illini Statistics Club
    • Illini Statistics Club is an RSO which brings together undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in statistics to build a community fostering skills and career development.  Illini Statistics Club hosts four types of events: career development events, skills development events, social events, and datathons. Interested students are welcome to come to our events and check us out!.

  • Statistics Doctoral Student Association (SDSA)

    • Statistics Doctoral Students Association (SDSA) is an independent student organization governed by the Ph.D. students at the Statistics Department at UIUC. The purpose of this Association is to create a suitable ground to foster interdepartmental interaction and collaboration, promote professional development through research presentations, discussions, and training, and create a social network among Statistics Ph.D. students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

  • Illinois Data Science Club

    • Illinois Data Science Club is UIUC’s premiere data science and analytics RSO, focusing on building a community of data professionals through semester long projects, workshops, speaker events, and socials. We aim to provide students with opportunities to apply the data science pipeline towards their fields of interest. We are open to all majors and all levels of experience.   • StatCom: Statistics in the Community
    • Statistics in the Community (StatCom) is a statistics consulting group run by students. It is a great way for graduate students to get the consulting experience they are looking for and further connect the university with the surrounding community. We aim to take on clients that are affiliated with the government, non-profits, educational institutions, etc. Being a part of StatCom is a unique opportunity for student consultants to gain practical experience, client communication skills, and network in a team driven professional environment.
  • Champaign-Urbana Data Science User Group
    • The aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry. Anyone is invited and included, from undergraduate students (or younger!) to seasoned professionals. There is no requirement for admission, only an interest in learning more about data science.

  • Sports Analytics Society

    • SAS gives students the opportunity to participate in and lead analytics projects in the sporting environment. With an emphasis on baseball, basketball, and football, groups will analyze and present data pertaining to Strategy, Management, Stat-Line, or Marketing within each sport. Developmental meetings that focus on data analysis tools ranging from Excel to R give members the skills they need to perform analysis at a high level. Introducting students to an up-and-coming field, the Sports Analytics Society is perfect for sports fanatics and number-crunchers alike.

  • Informs

    • Student run organization that encourages interest in Operations Research (OR) and Management Sciences (MS). INFORMS stands for the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences. It is the largest professional organization dedicated to these two fields. These are two fields that work very closely together, and in a lot of ways overlap. Here at Illinois, our student chapter seeks to expand the study and use of OR/MS fields here in Champaign -Urbana. We invite students of ALL majors to join us as we research and learn from professionals who use these principles on a daily basis. We want to engage students interested in these fields, encourage further study of them, and help establish them as professionals.
