Statement on Diversity

The Department of Statistics is committed to welcoming, recruiting, retaining, and supporting all students, faculty, and staff. We currently operate the David H. Blackwell Summer Scholars program to enhance the education and research efforts of diverse students on-campus and off-campus, and are actively working to expand this effort. We support programming and informational efforts to include people regardless of background and identity. Our faculty and staff have created accessible courses that adapt to various student challenges that may require accommodations. We conduct research to improve and implement innovative teaching pedagogies that recognize differences in student learning styles. We will continue to create an equitable environment for the future of the statistics discipline and profession.
