AcademicsAcademic Careers

Students planning on pursuing a career in academics should plan on obtaining a doctoral degree within the field of statistics or similar mathematical science. Academic career minded students should begin early with their development and maintain a strong undergraduate through graduate GPA. Securing strong recommendations from faculty members they closely work with throughout their undergraduate and graduate studies are a must. Students should volunteer to assist faculty members with their research or attempt to obtain a teaching or research assistantship to better prepare them for a career in academics.
