Kevin Armstrong has been selected as one of eight staff members and academic professionals to receive a College of Liberal Arts & Sciences award recognizing outstanding professional contributions, with honorees to be celebrated in a Spring 2026 ceremony. As facility operations coordinator for the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics and the School of Earth, Society, and Environment, Armstrong oversees operations across seven academic buildings and three leased spaces supporting more than 500 people. He has played a key role in the Altgeld and Illini Hall Project—one of the largest capital projects in university history—and is widely recognized for his steady composure, approachable leadership style, and consistent ability to move complex challenges toward positive resolution.
