The Department of Statistics invites applications for Instructor, Lecturer, and Visiting Assistant Professor positions in Statistics and Data Science (up to 100% for 9 months, non-tenure track). Instructor and Lecturer positions are continuing specialized faculty appointments renewable yearly subject to performance and funding. Visiting positions can be renewed up to 3 years subject to performance & funding. Adjunct positions are possible for appointments below 50%. Some areas of emphasis include statistical instruction and methods for data science, statistical machine learning, computational statistics, biostatistics and informatics. All areas of statistics and data science are welcome.

All applicants for Lecturer and Visiting Assistant Professor positions must have a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, data science, engineering or related field at time of appointment and the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate (master’s) level. Applicants for the position of Instructor must have a Master’s degree in one of these same fields and have demonstrated the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.

Applicants for Visiting Assistant Professor positions must demonstrate a commitment to applied or pedagogical research, and excellent teaching. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain an active and independent research program appropriate to their faculty appointment, and to provide service to the department, the university and the profession.

The anticipated starting date is either August 16, 2019 or January 1, 2020. Salary is competitive.
