Xichen Huang's paper, "Scalable Bayesian Learning for Sparse Logistic Models", has been selected as one of the winners of this year's student paper competition, from the Section on Statistical Computing.
The award will be presented at this year's Joint Statistical Meetings, which are being held July 29 to August 3, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland. This presentation consists of two separate events:
There will be a special session at JSM in which the five student awards winners (4 from the student paper competition plus the winner of the Chambers Award) each give a 20-minute talk on their work.
At the mixer for the Section on Statistical Computing and the Section on Statistical Graphics, the award will be physically presented. This consists of both a certificate and a $1,000 cash prize.
